We are located at Malecon Jose Picasso Peratta 154, facing the Huacachina lagoon, Ica, Peru. Our terrace has a direct view of the lagoon and dunes. We are just a 5-minute walk from where sandboarding and buggy tours depart.

From Lima you can take a direct bus to Ica with Cruz del Sur, Oltursa or Soyuz (4-5 hours, S/40-80). From the Ica terminal, a taxi or mototaxi takes you to Huacachina in 10-15 minutes (S/5-10). There are also organized tours from Lima that include transportation and activities.

Buggy tours and sandboarding: The most popular activity (S/40-60, 2 hours). Tours depart at sunset to watch the sunset from the dunes.

Boat rides: Explore the lagoon on pedal boats (S/10-15).

Winery visits: Taste artisanal wine and pisco at Ica wineries (tours from S/30).

Nazca Lines flights: From Ica airport (from $80 USD).

Huacachina has warm desert climate year-round, so it's always a good time to visit. April to November: Milder weather (20-28°C), ideal for outdoor activities. December to March: Hotter (up to 35°C), bring sunscreen and plenty of water. Weekends and holidays are more crowded. Weekdays are quieter and prices may be better.

We serve authentic Italian cuisine: Artisan pizzas with 48-hour fermented dough, fresh pasta made in-house daily, salads, Italian desserts and Britt gourmet coffee. We also have vegetarian options. Our wine list includes Ica wines and select imports. The restaurant is open from 8AM to 11PM every day.

We accept: cash in Peruvian soles and US dollars, Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards, and bank transfers for accommodation bookings. We recommend bringing cash as some services in Huacachina (such as tours and mototaxis) only accept cash.

Huacachina is generally safe for tourists. It is a small oasis community focused on tourism. Standard precautions apply: keep valuables secure, avoid walking on dunes alone at night, and stay hydrated. At Wild Olive Guest House we offer personal lockers, luggage storage, and a safe environment.

No, tap water in Peru is not safe to drink. At Wild Olive we sell bottled water and serve fresh natural juices, lemonade, chicha morada, and smoothies made with purified water. Bring a reusable water bottle and stay well hydrated, especially in the desert heat.

We recommend 2 nights to fully enjoy Huacachina. Day 1: Arrive, explore the lagoon, buggy tour at sunset, dinner at Wild Olive. Day 2: Gourmet breakfast, pisco wine route or paragliding, relax. With 3+ days add Nazca Lines, stargazing, and sunrise photography.
